Four Layers Filtering

Additional Information

Outer Layer: "A"-grade knitted fabric, waterproof.

Middle Layers: Two layers melt blown non woven fabrics exclusively used for surgical masks.

(Melt blowing is a conventional fabrication method of micro- and nano- fibers where a polymer melt is extruded through small nozzles surrounded by high speed blowing gas. The randomly deposited fibers form a non-woven sheet product applicable for filtration, absorbents, apparels and drug delivery systems.)

Inner Layer: Alginate fiber, antibacterial, skin friendly, anti-static, breathable .

Filtration rate is over 95%

Our mask has two layers melt blown which is exclusive used for Medical Surgical Masks, its filtration rate is over 95%. The mask can effectively prevent entering of spray and aerosol into respiratory tract.

Woven (Fabric Only Mask) vs Melt Blown Non-Woven Layer

Woven Cotton Twill Weave

The woven cotton fabric here with twill weave has clearly less surface area and more openings then the melt blown fabric. The woven fabric mask provides very limited protection against foreign pathogens and small particulates due to limited surface area and relative big through openings. These openings are not present in a melt blow fabric.

The non woven fabric mask provides better protection against foreign pathogens and small particulates. This is due to the non woven fabric having smaller fibers which are randomly oriented as a result of the melt blowing process . This gives the fabric increased internal surface area and small internal voids (No through openings). Which allow it to entrap more particles and pathogens than typical woven structures.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Guidance for the Use of Masks

CDC

Interim Guidance for the Use of Masks to Control Virus Transmission

The following interim CDC guidance was developed in response to questions about the role of masks for controlling virus transmission.

Viruses  are believed to be transmitted from person-to-person primarily through  virus-laden droplets that are generated when infected persons speak, cough or sneeze; these droplets can be deposited onto the mucosal surfaces of the upper respiratory tract of susceptible persons who are near the droplet source. Transmission also may occur through direct and indirect contact with infectious respiratory secretions, (e.g., by hands that subsequently deliver infectious material to the eyes, nose or mouth).

A combination of infection prevention control strategies is recommended to decrease transmission of influenza viruses. These include source control (immediately putting a surgical mask on patients being evaluated for respiratory symptoms), promptly placing suspected influenza patients in private rooms, and having healthcare personnel wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when caring for patients with suspected influenza.
